SUNDAY-LA!

Our day started early with a typical American breakfast in the new hotel. We arrived right at  Hollywood Boulevard and the walk of fame after a short bus ride. Our first stop was the “Madame Tussauds Wax Museum” where we had a chance to take a photo with our favorite stars, made out of wax. It was amazing how realistic the wax figures looked! After that we had some free time to check out the walk of fame, the Chinese theatre and the Dolby Theatre which is famous for hosting the Oscar nominations. We could even see the Hollywood letters from the mall right next to the Dolby Theatre – over all a fun morning in famous Hollywood !

Later we headed to the town of Huntington Beach which is just outside of Los Angeles. We had a great time at the beach, enjoying the California sun and surf inspired spirit of Huntington. The water was warm and perfect for swimming in the waves of the Pacific.             Some of us enjoyed some sports such as volleyball, football, soccer and others tried surfing. Most of the group laid out under the warm sun of the West Coast.

Our dinner took place in an Italian restaurant called “Bucca di Beppo”  which translates to “Joe’s Basement”. It was just perfect for Giacomo, our Italian birthday boy. Our day ended with a swim in the nice pool of the hotel.

SATURDAY-Universal!

Today was our first day in California, finally!!!
We left Las Vegas in the morning, all extremely tired after a crazy fun night. We headed for LA, the City of Los Angeles.
On the way to LA, we passed through the biggest national park: the Death Valley. This place bears such a name because of its temperature, that can reach 50C (130F). This place is mostly composed of sand and mountains. Although, it is principally desert, it does include some vegetation. We had fun looking outside the window and realizing how much Vegas was in the middle of nowhere.

As soon as we arrived to LA, we went straight to Universal Studios, where some of us took a tour of the studios, which was unbelievable. Some very famous shows are recorded there such as Desperate Housewives, About a Boy, King Kong… You can experience flirting in Cowboy streets, passing by a airplane crash or surviving an earthquake in a subway station. It is amazing to be able to watch how the magic of Hollywood is created. We also had free time to walk around the park and go in different rides (They were incredible!!). Universal Studios includes very fun rides featuring our favorite cartoon characters. Some of us enjoyed the Water Show, others the scary hunted house where monsters and zombies jump towards you (the girls screamed a lot!!). Theme rides like The Simpsons, Despicable Me, Sponge Bob… and Roller Coasters such as the Revenge of the Mummy, Jurassic Park waterfall, etc., were a lot of fun as well.

We had a great dinner at the Hard Rock Café, which is located right next to Universal in what looks like a little Times Square. Later on we had a little free time to spare where the stores and restaurants are. We definitely took advantage of that time and danced like no one was watching us. We completely take over every place we go. Young & Fearless!!

FRIDAY- LAS VEGAS part 2!

On Friday we woke up later than usually and with that little bit more sleep we were ready for the streets of Las Vegas. This magical city has a lot of places to go and things to do more than the well known gambling. For example the New York New York Hotel, which besides being an awesome place it has a roller coaster! This was the first stop for many of us during our free time at morning. To go to this place we had to walk from the Bellagio Hotel and enjoy not only that place but also our walking through the streets. After that some of us had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe while others decide to have a quick lunch and go to places like the Caesars Palace, where the Hangover was filmed! Definitely the Las Vegas streets are a place to spend time, they have from amazingly big casinos to beautiful malls all together, we can say we had a LOT of fun!

Even with the extra sleep we were a little bit tired… so we came back to the hotel after lunch to enjoy some time for ourselves, some of us decided to go to the pool since it was our last day, and others went to their rooms to get ready for the night that was waiting for us. Water everywhere! We try to make the best of everything and the pool wasn’t an exception, we played Frisbee and enjoy the really hot weather of the desert. But we didn’t had that much time… we had to be in our busses ready for the awesome Las Vegas Stratosphere!!! This is one of the tallest buildings in USA, and in it we had three types of games to choose. The first one, Insanity, was insane! People sit on chairs at a thousand feet above the ground looking down and spinning around. The second one, Big Shot was even crazier, you sit on chairs and go up at more than a thousand feet above the ground, once you are in the top, they drop you off for thirty meters going up and down many times. The third one, X-Scream, the best one, is like a rocket that goes back and forth making you feel like you are going to fall to the ground! Some of the students didn’t go to any of the rides, but didn’t miss anything; the view from the top of the stratosphere is amazing. You can see how Las Vegas is a beautiful city in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a beautiful landscape with mountains and a colorful desert.

After everyone was done with the game and taking pictures of Las Vegas, the buses picked us up and took us to the best buffet ever! There were so many choices of foods from different places, Italian, European, South American and Asian. The best part was the dessert. I think I had never eaten so much in my whole life. It was just perfect.
Finally we went to the Bellagio again, we had some time to walk and enjoy the city at night again. Las Vegas can be describe like the world in one city. You have the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State, Greek edifications and some Asian culture too, everything together creating one of the most exciting cities in the world. But most of us had to walk quick because something was waiting for us at the Bellagio Hotel… the Cirque di solei! Known also as the best circus in the world, with artist from different nationalities just like us. The ones that decided to see the show went at to the Hotel door and then walked all together to the entrance of the beautiful Cirque Di solei theater. There is no much I can say more than now I know why they call it the ‘Best Circus In The World’. The stage has a big pool that transforms itself into a floor when is necessary. The water is the principal attraction and even the roof has water drops. We had a great time and after the amazing show we had the opportunity to be on a bus party! We enjoy our way back to the hotel, where our friends who didn’t go to the show were coming out from the pool. Our day was beyond amazing and I think we all agree that,
Definitely we LOVE LAS VEGAS!

THURSDAY- LAS VEGAS!

We were greeted by a fine sun shining morning at mountain ranch hotel in Williams, AZ. We were all really excited to visit to the city that never sleeps. The city of Las Vegas. It was a long ride of 5 hours and we made a couple of stops on the way. One of the stops we made was on the historic Route66. It was exciting to learn more about history of USA.

We didn't even realize when we reached Las Vegas because of the enthusiasm by all the people in the bus and the total involvement of the people in the crazy movie Hangover. Our first place in Las Vegas was to premium outlets of Las Vegas. We shopped there for sometime and had really good food. We came to the hotel and as usual got in the pool first. All of us got dressed up afterwards for a royal night. We went to a typical Las Vegas buffet which had all kinds of food from all over the world. We were all pumped for the limo ride and it lived to our expectations.

]

We made three stops in the limo. We heard a really nice band on our first stop and it was a really good sight. The second stop was at one of the finest hotels in Las vegas. Bellagio: It was a mesmerizing thing to watch. The water fountain which worked at the beat of the music was an amazing sight to see.We headed on to one of the main attractions in Las Vegas, the Welcome to Las Vegas sign! It was a great last stop as we took great pictures and it was a wonderful memory for us. We went to the hotel exhausted and went right to our beds. That was the ultimate sign to a really good and fun day. All of us are really looking forward to second day in vegas.
