Today was our last day of the trip. We headed to Alcatraz in the morning by ferry boat. We did the audio tour which was very interesting and provided us with a lot of information. We got to hear stories from real convicts and from the officers who worked there. Next we had free time in Pier 39 for lunch, some of us had Boudins which is famous for sourdough bread. We then headed to the Golden Gate Bridge and began our walk across. It was weird because it was super foggy on the San Francisco side, but once we walked across to Marin County it was really sunny. We then headed to the hotel to get ready for our final night. We had a banquet dinner and the staff said goodbye speeches followed by awards that all of us voted for. Finished the night with a huge dance party!! We are sad to leave, but this is not goodbye, just see you later!
Goodbye from the staff:
We hope you guys had an amazing trip! We are so happy that you were able to join us on this adventure. You guys are amazing people and we hope you continue to travel and see the beauty of the world. Take care and stay in touch with each other!!!

FRIDAY- SF!
Today we all went from Oakland to San Francisco to ride
a cable car, going towards downtown San Francisco. The cable car was fun, it
was open and we could have a great view of the city. After riding the cable
cars we all had free time to walk around and have lunch in Union Square, in the
square there was a Macy’s and lots of people had lunch over there.
We then jumped on the bus with two very nice guides that gave us a historical tour of
the city, we got to see the city hall, twin peaks, mural and Lombard street.
After we all went to Chinatown, where we had some free time to shop and then to
have dinner with everyone else. The food was really good, and they had a great
variety. In the end of the day, we all went to an open place in Oakland to
watch the fireworks for 4th of July, it was cold, but it was extremely pretty and
everyone had lots of fun.

THURSDAY- SF!
Today was a really awesome day, like every day on this trip
has been. We woke up and had a roadtrip to SAN FRANCISCO. It took about 3 hours
to drive there but we watched Forrest Gump on the way there so the time went by
fast. When we got there we had lunch in Oakland at Inn n Out burger for the
first time. They had really interesting burgers. After that we drove into the beautiful city of San Francisco and went to the Ce Young Museum.
After that we had free time at Ghirehdellie and
pier 39 and in the area around which was super cool. We ended the day in San
Francisco by eating at Bubba Gump Shrimp and afterwards we had a kind of
mini-concert where some guy was singing songs and we all started watching him
and singing along. On the way to the hotel which is In Oakland about 40 minutes
away we saw some really awesome fireworks and that was a perfect way to end a
good day.

WEDNESDAY-Yosemite!
Early (really early!) we left the hotel to go to Yosemite Park.
With the beautiful sun and a couple layers of sunscreen we started the day
listening to a park ranger talking about the park and bears. For your
information, if you happen to run into a black bear, don't run, don't climb up
a tree but make yourself appear big and be loud! Then it was time for rafting!
We all got in the boats and started paddling (for those who actually knew how
to do it...) in beautiful surroundings. The huge cliffs, the waterfalls and ...
the freezing water, which we all ended up in, was breathtaking.
After the
little workout it was finally time for lunch! (Who knew working out makes you
so hungry?). Like if we hadn't been working out enough we went on a hike to see
one of the longest waterfalls in the US. Compared to the Grand Canyon the hike
was a piece of cake (almost..). We ended the day hanging out by the river, no
bears spotted but we all had an amazing day!
